Solar energy doesn’t pollute the earth.

Photovoltaic cells and thermal conversion are the methods available for converting solar power to electricity. Another way to generate electric power is using sunlight to create heat. This method is known as solar thermal conversion. Photovoltaic conversion uses sheets of a specialized material that can create electricity directly from the sun.

Sunlight is necessary to solar conversion as the name implies. (solar) This also uses reflectors and mirrors to create large amounts of heat from exposure to the sun. (Thermal energy is a type of energy). If you have ever starting a magnifying glass fire, than you were using solar energy. The magnifying glass lens concentrates the suns rays to create a pinpoint of intense heat. Actual solar cells used to store heat use this method to superheat liquids that produce steam. Steam is created, which in turn moves a turbine that converts the energy into electrity.

Light converted to electricity is the definition of Photovoltaic Conversion. Photovoltatic cell comprise panels made of two layers which are not made of the same stuff. One layer becomes positively charged and the other negatively when light hits them. Electric current is produced, when a ositive end and a negative end, when a wire connects the two ends, it produces very much like a regular battery. An electric current is created when the two layers of material in a solar cell are exposed to light.

Just one solar cell will of course work better when the sun is shining. The best results come from prolonged, intense, and direct sunlight.

These days you can find many different products that are solar powered. Solar power offers many benefits including the fact that it can be portable, and that it protects the earth. As was already pointed out, anyone who ever lit a campfire by holding up a magnifying glass has already put solar energy to work for them. The devices offered today are more efficient and effective then ever before. In the future it is extremely bright and promising the use of solar power now.

When reworking or redecorating your home, consider the following aspects before selecting shades for your windows : needs, space and style. Need is about function. Need is left brain function ( objective and logical ), while style is right brain function ( subjective and intuitive ). When people are on the lookout for window coverings, need is what they initially consider. They’re going to wonder if the window covering provides adequate privacy ; what degree of light it provides ; and whether it’ll prevent heat loss in the winter months and if it will retain the cool air in the summer months.

Space refers to the area of the complete room. When you begin to look for your window coverings, consider one room individually. Each room will be different depending on the dimensions of the room, the location of the window, the sort of window, the colours of the room, the exposure to natural light, and of course, the sort of room ( i.e. Bedroom, bath, living, kitchen, for example. ) keep in mind that the room is actually the frame for the window covering, rather than the exact window. All these factors influence the type of kitchen curtain or window covering that works best in the room.

Style is intangible, but style is also about form. Fashions and decor will change, as will your dislikes and likes. Even the words used to outline style are personal ( what might be considered modern and up-to-date to some people, may be high-tech or post-modern to others ).
A White Makeover
Whether from an interior design perspective or a functional viewpoint, white has always been considered a very cool color. From a systematic perspective, white doesn’t soak up the suns rays as darker colors do. In reality, with white, the suns rays essentially bounce back from the surface. This would obviously be a glorious color choice in the summer months as the color will help to reduce the heat produced from the glare of the sun.
For rooms which will overlook a pool or other body of water, such as a lake or pool, white windows coverings, whether shades, drapes, louvers, blinds or shutters, are excellent as the water generates a glare from the sun. The blinds which reflect the best quantity of sun are those with a white or metallic backing.

If it is at all practical and affordable for you, it might be ideal to modify your window coverings with the seasons. In the winter months, you could use colors which would create heat in your rooms ; and during the summer, you might use white or neutral tones for your window coverings. You wouldn’t need to do that for each room in your home, but just the rooms where you and your folks spend the most time.
