Penny Stocks do make people money, no doubt, otherwise they would not be traded, but of course it is a risk. In theory virtually anyone can get on to the trading ladder. Shares are constituent parts of the total value of a publicly gloated company distributed into equal parts, with the shares bought and sold for profit. Often the people who trade in company shares and stocks fall into a few different groups - those who own a small number of shares in a company as amateur investors, those large investors who aim for a controlling interest in a company, and those who are simply in it to make some money. To differing degrees many businesses and individuals have been terribly affected by the downturn recently, but there are many people who are still able to turn the downward trend into profits. Many are having problems with their mortgage and loan payments this year due to the last couple of years of financial and economic downturn, and so people are looking for other ways to make money even those who still have a job. This can take many forms but I would suggest that investing in stocks and shares would not be top of the list of things to consider. However it is a very true maxim that the time to buy stocks and shares is when they are at their lowest, you buy low and sell high. So, while a recession is ongoing, is exactly the right time to consider the purchase of shares & stocks. These shares must of course be in companies which are considered well run, and in the industries which should benefit as the country recovers from the recession. During a recession governments will usually try to stimulate the economy by initiating infrastructure projects, roads, bridges, services etc. therefore construction companies are worthy of consideration.
